Are you struggling to lose those extra stubborn pockets of fat? Would you like to remove the muffin top, bingo wings or excess fat from your inner thighs? Or want to shrink a dress size? Cryolipolysis offers an effective solution without the need for invasive surgery.
At Deluxe Clinic, we understand how frustrating it can be when pockets of localised fat in areas such as the abdomen, hips (love handles), thighs (saddlebags) and upper arms don’t respond to dieting and exercise. Slimming and contouring these areas often demands a more advanced approach in the form of groundbreaking, advanced technology.
Cryolipolysis (fat freezing) carried out with 3D – LipoMed technology uses cold temperatures to target and break down fat cells. Subcutaneous fat cells are proven to be more vulnerable to cold then other types of cells and surrounding tissues. The fat cells are crystallised during the treatment at -6°C which separates them and localises cell death (apoptosis). A fat-removal process is then stimulated which continues for several months after the procedure. As treated fat cells are gently removed (around 20% to 40% of the fat cells in the treatment area) through natural metabolic processes, the thickness of the fat layer reduces.*
The fat cells are removed permanently meaning results are long-term if they’re maintained with a healthy diet and exercise (as it is possible for the remaining fat cells in the treatment area to increase in size). As a non-surgical alternative to liposuction, Cryo can sculpt your shape in a non-invasive way with no downtime. *
A cryolipolysis handpiece is placed on the treatment area which is then cooled to -6°C. As the fat cells become colder they begin to crystallise. This causes the fat cells to shrink and send out distress signals which are answered by macrophages (large white blood cells). The macrophages clean away the shrunken or damaged cells which stimulates a natural fat-removal process. This continues for several months after treatment.
There is no damage to the surrounding skin, nerves or tissues.
A cryo pad containing skin-protecting fluid will be applied to the treatment area. The cryolipolysis handpiece is then attached to the treatment area to deliver a gentle vacuum pressure. This draws the tissue between the cooling panels within the handpiece to effectively cool the treatment area.
Yes – as there is no surgery, anaesthetic or incisions involved in the procedure most of our clients return to their normal activities as soon as the treatment is finished. The treated area may feel a little red and swollen for a while but these effects should subside quite quickly.*
As this treatment is non-invasive there are very few side effects. Skin may appear red and swollen immediately after treatment and there may be some localised bruising for up to 10 days. The treated area may feel cold and numb for up to 2 weeks.*
